Home Health Aide Services

Being comfortable in one's own surroundings accelerates the healing process. Hands-on or supportive care can be provided in private residences; hospitals, rehabilitation centers and assisted living and long-term care facilities. The primary function of the Home Health Aide is to assist individuals with personal care and activities of daily living including:

  • Physical care to do daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Accompanying patients to medical appointments, dialysis, and/or day surgery
  • Simple dressings
  • Feeding
  • Checking of vital signs
  • Exercises under the supervision of a nurse or therapist
  • Medication reminders

Nursing Services

Our staff of experienced licensed nurses can be instrumental in providing those skilled services necessary for clients to remain in the comfort of their own familiar surroundings.

Nursing services may include:

  • Assessing the patient’s condition and needs
  • Developing and managing a mutually agreed-upon care plan to meet those needs
  • Providing the skilled care required
  • Offering the patient and family and/or caregivers education and information to help maintain the patient’s health, safety and independence

Companion Services

Companion Services play a vital role in providing care at home, whether offered as small blocks of time or in round-the-clock shifts. If you are faced with caring for an elderly individual who lives in isolation; trying to manage the responsibilities of family, work and an aging parent; or if you are a young parent overwhelmed with the responsibilities of a new baby, Distinguished Care Options' Companionship Services can be the key to successful care management at home. 

Companionship services may include but are not limited to:

  • Socialization and recreation
  • Respite for family caregivers
  • Preparation and serving of meals and light snacks
  • Accompaniment on walks
  • Accompaniment on shopping and other errands

The primary duty of the homemaker is to provide light housekeeping services to preserve a safe and sanitary home.
